Registration is a test most people sit unprepared.
New providers don't fail because they'd run poor services. They fail on paperwork, consistency and an interview nobody rehearsed with them.
- 01
The application maze
CQC applications are routinely returned for avoidable gaps, a vague statement of purpose, missing evidence, answers that contradict each other. Every round trip costs weeks you're paying rent and salaries through.
- 02
Policies from a blank page
You're expected to produce a full set of policies and procedures before you've supported a single client. Bought template packs read like template packs, and assessors can tell.
- 03
The fit person interview
The registered manager interview trips up capable managers every week. It isn't a chat, it's an assessment of whether you understand your regulatory duties, and nobody hands you the questions in advance.
Everything your registration needs, done with you.
Not a template pack in a zip file, a complete, coherent application built around the service you'll actually run.
- 01
Provider & registered manager applications
Both applications prepared and submitted properly the first time, with the supporting evidence CQC expects to see.
- 02
Statement of purpose
Written with you, in your words, specific to your service and consistent with every other document you submit.
- 03
Tailored policy & procedure set
The governance, safeguarding, medication and data-protection policies your service type requires, tailored, not renamed templates.
- 04
Fit person interview preparation
A full mock interview with the questions registered managers actually face, honest feedback, and a second run if you need it.
- 05
Evidence & readiness checklist
DBS checks, financial viability, premises, insurance, a clear, sequenced checklist so nothing stalls your application.
- 06
A roadmap past registration
Registration is stage one of four. You leave with a plan for digital records, inspection-readiness and your first clients, because a registered service with no clients is still just a cost.
Four steps to a decision, without the resubmission loop.
A fixed fee and a fixed sequence. You always know what's happening and what comes next.
- 01
Scope
A call to map your service type, location, timeline and what you already have in place. You get a fixed plan, and the £1,950 fee confirmed. It doesn't move.
- 02
Build
Statement of purpose, policies and both applications drafted with you and reviewed together until every document is consistent and true.
- 03
Rehearse
Your registered manager sits a full mock fit person interview, gets specific feedback, and goes again until it feels routine.
- 04
Submit & support
We submit, track and handle CQC's follow-up questions with you until the decision, then hand you the stage-two roadmap.
£1,950
fixed fee
One fixed fee. No hourly billing.
£1,950 covers the full registration package, however many drafts, calls and follow-up questions it takes. Here's what that does and doesn't include, in plain English:
- 01CQC's own registration fee and DBS check fees are paid directly to CQC and the DBS, never marked up, never passed through us.
- 02If CQC comes back with questions, responding is included. There is no extra invoice for 'additional correspondence'.
- 03Honest timelines: our preparation typically takes two to three weeks. CQC's assessment is theirs alone, no one can genuinely promise to speed it up, and you should be sceptical of anyone who does.
Ready to register, or stuck mid-application?
Book a free 20-minute call. We'll tell you honestly where your application stands and what it needs, whether or not you work with us.
What providers ask before they begin.
- 01
How long does CQC registration take?
Preparing a complete application with us typically takes two to three weeks. CQC's own assessment usually takes around ten weeks or more, and no consultant can genuinely speed it up. What we can do is remove the avoidable delays: incomplete applications, weak statements of purpose and unprepared interviews are the usual causes of returned applications and resubmissions.
- 02
Do you guarantee my registration will be approved?
No, and you should be wary of anyone who does, because the decision is CQC's alone. What we commit to is a complete, coherent application, a tailored policy set and a registered manager who walks into the fit person interview prepared. If CQC comes back with questions, responding is included in the fixed fee.
- 03
What happens after we're registered?
This is where most registration support ends, and where skaale is different. As a growth partner we stay for the whole journey: digital care records and DSPT compliance, inspection-readiness, and the website, local SEO and referral marketing that bring your first clients. One partner, from registration to fully booked.
